Nails Everywhere

There's a saying, when you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail (or something like that). That's how AI is, everyone wants to AI everything.

I mean look at this:

What are we doing? You want to use AI to create a podcast for your kids to listen to on their ride to school, when the simple answer: is talk to your kids.

You don't have all the time with your kids and the moments you do have are precious and  you want to: use AI to make a podcast. Really?

I love the simplicity of the response here: what if you just talked to your children. Ya know, like what's worked forever. Simple connecting with your children instead of trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist with AI.

Sample This

One thing that's worked for pretty much forever beat machines were invented was sampling. It's tried and true and many hits were built off sampling. It's a staple of beatmaking.

Get a nice sample, lay down some drums and you can have a hit.

With DAW's nowadays it's easy to get caught up in all the features and with AI it's easy to create AI this and AI that.

But sampling works. It's the "what if you just talked to your children" of music making.

Cheers

And speaking of sampling, I'm a sucker for good tv show flip and this dude right did Cheers justice:
