The Step Sequencer is great for drums, but did you know you can make melodies with it?
Here's how:
Create a new Pattern Region and add a percussion sound - a triangle, for example. Start with a pattern of notes by clicking the cells you want on, on.
Open up the details and go to Note in the sub row edits. If Note is not visible, click the plus sign to add it.
Change the pitch of each individual note as you see fit by dragging the cell up or down.
Add in your drum pattern and there you have it. You have melody using the pitch of a sample.
