MIDI Drum Patterns You Need [free download] [updated 2025]

MIDI drum patterns are great because they give you great drum loops but with the ease and control to switch them up. MIDI is easy to edit, whereas audio can be tricky. 

The best part: MIDI drum patterns get you started right away without locking you in to a specific pattern. Drag one on the timeline and start crafting your beat. You can always add, modify, adjust later. 

When you want to make music, you want to get started in a flow. MIDI drum patterns grease the wheels so to speak. Simply add a midi drum pattern to your DAW and press play. Adjust to your liking.

Four On The Floor 

Four on the floor is used in a lot of pop music. It adds energy and excitement. But it can be used in other genres as well. 

Here's a four on the floor made with a midi drum pattern.

Double Kick

You see a lot of back to back kicks in hiphop and the subgenres in hiphop. It adds a nice feel and tension to the beat. Here's a midi drum pattern with a double kick back to back mixed in. 


Two Kicks

Many beats start of with one kick. Sometimes you'll see two back to back like above. But often you'll hear many with a step in between those two kicks. That's what we hear here.

R&B Slow Jam Vibe

Speaking of R&B, here's a smooth chill R&B drum beat. It has a nice rhythm to it and can be used in R&B but also more chill pop songs, and of course lofi.
